HOW SHOULD I LOOK AFTER MY NEW TATTOO

Your new tattoo is basically an area of tiny punctures caused by the needles carrying ink into your skin and, as with any wound, there is always a possibility that it may become infected or have other healing issues. Following the advice below helps reduce the chance of anything going wrong with your tattoo:

  • Keep the cling film dressing on for 2 hours

  • Remove the dressing and wash under hot running water for 10 – 15 minutes

  • Gently blot excess water off using a clean towel

  • Allow to air dry for 30 minutes

  • Apply a thin layer of Bepanthan ointment to the whole tattoo

  • Wash and apply Bepanthan 3 – 4 times daily until all flaking/scabbing has gone

Everyone heals at different rates, and healing times depend on many factors. Most flaking/scabbing should disappear within 7-14 days. The skin may appear silvery for the first few weeks afterwards. The tattoo should appear healed in around 4/5 weeks for most people

DO YOU DO PIERCINGS?

CAN I BRING A GUEST ALONG WITH ME TO MY TATTOO APPOINTMENT?

If you need moral support, we’ll do our best to fit in your guest. Please ask before the time of the booking because some days are busier than others.

WILL I NEED TO BRING I.D.?

If you’re lucky enough to look under 25 then yes, definitely. If you are a little older, it’s a good idea to bring it anyway.

A parent/guardian is NOT I.D. You will need a valid Passport, driver’s licence, a PASS card (eg Young Scot) or Military ID… and yes, we will spot a fake

DO I NEED TO BOOK IN ADVANCE OR CAN I JUST WALK IN?

Booking is a very good idea. On the rare occasion that an artist has a cancellation or no-show, you may be able to get a walk in slot but you’d be best checking our Facebook or Instagram pages as we will post last minute spaces there.

CAN I GET TATTOOED IN I HAVE A MEDICAL CONDITION?

If you have a medical problem such as heart disease, allergies, diabetes, skin problems (like eczema or psoriasis), a weak immune system, or a bleeding problem, talk to your doctor before booking a tattoo. Also, if you get keloids (an overgrowth of scar tissue) you probably should not get a tattoo. It’s always a good idea to consult with your doctor before getting tattooed if you have any ongoing medical conditions even if you think it will be fine.
