Alex Underwood

Alex is a tattoo artist who is adept in the illustrative style of tattooing. Working exclusively with lines and dots he has become an expert in creating intricately detailed tattoos. He operates using only black ink and applies specialised techniques to convey tone and texture. 

He is inspired by vintage prints from eras past; from Victorian medical diagrams to Religious depictions. He enjoys their gritty textures juxtaposed against soft delicate lines and strives to evoke the same in his own work. 

Prior to tattooing he was studying an Honours Degree in Digital Art and Illustration. He has always been passionate about illustration and decided to study it on an academic level. Throughout his degree he had the opportunity to develop his own style of illustration which would eventually become the focus in his tattoos.

He hopes to keep learning new skills and to never grow stagnant.
